Scope and Contents It may be said in summary that the manuscript appears to be a product of a school conducted by An Giolla Riabhach Ó Cléirigh and Dubhthach Ó Duibhgeannáin, and that it circulated for a hundred years and more in Cowall. The Reverend William Campbell’s formalised note at page ii, giving the place Glenmasan and the date 1268, has provided the name by which it is generally known. Scope and Contents The manuscript is written in the following hands.1. Text and notes, folios 1 verso-10 verso. A hand of a type more characteristic of medical manuscripts, cf. Adv.MS.72.1.12. Distinctive uncial 'r' and v-shaped 'u'. No decoration save some red on capitals, folios 5-10. From various additions in a similar hand, especially that at folio 6 verso, column b, line 41, it appears as if the scribe returned to annotate his work at a later point in time.
